I am very much opposed to the “nude scanners” but even if efforts to remove them succeed it will not help those of us who have artificial joints which set off the old style scanners. This means that we either go thru the new scanners and get strip searched and exposed to radiation or go thru the old ones and get molested. Frankly, I think we are more likely to see some changes if more people are exposed to abusive practices than if we return to the old system which just abused a smaller number of people over and over. I’ve been complaining about this for years but many of my friends were not that concerned until they too were required to submit. It’s just human nature, but we need a solution that works for all of us.
